Ridiculously cool VW Beetle Dive, Latest Anilao Wreck

I wanted to buy this Beetle for P15k from the owner of Monte Carlo Dive Resort two years back, he wasn't kidding when he said he'd rather throw it in the ocean. R J of Pier Uno models

This was one of my coolest weekends diving Anilao. Its always fun diving with Erwin and friends at Pier Uno Dive resort but the huge bonus was I got to see and shoot a Volkswagen Beetle Underwater plus meeting new buddies with Warren Co of Dive Nation Philippines as well...

The Volkswagen Beetle which used to be parked at the frontage of Monte Carlo Anilao for several years was neglected and rotting away. I always pestered then Monte Carlo divemaster Justine if I can take the none running red beetle home for P15k pesos...he always joked the owner would rather throw it in the ocean. They weren't kidding....

Its such an awesome site to dive nowadays...Beetle Underwater...if you think seeing Kombis turned into food trucks is cool, this one takes the Volkswagen nostalgia to a whole new level... No silly surfboard needed for visual impact.

Anyway, the only reason we got to dive is because Warren Co and Dive Nation Philippines was kind enough to share his boat with us while RJ of Pier Uno led the way finding this super cool wreck. His team was celebrating Christmas with a cool team project of creating a Christmas tree and Parol underwater. Here are a few pics of his team in action.
